Matthew Satterthwaite, Arts and Sciences U1

Prior to the Presidential debate and meeting the candidates, I was undecided as to who would be the best representative for our student body. When I think about the type of person that should be President of our SSMU, I think about someone who is approachable, open minded, optimistic, responsible and driven. To make this shorter, I could have simply summed that up as Austin Johnson. Through his sincere optimism as well as his passion for McGill and our student politics, he quickly convinced me that he was a perfect fit for the position. I strongly believe that Austin will not disappoint us if he is elected. Having been involved with McGill democracy/bureaucracy as an executive member of the Arts & Science student council, I am able to confidently say that Austin has the required attributes and leadership skills which are essential to success in this position.
